I’ve been a smoker since I was 17 years old averaged around 15-20 per day. I tried a number of different ways to quit, nicotine patches, chewing gum, vape e-cigarettes and nothing has really stuck. The problem has always been that deep down, I actually enjoyed smoking. I would tell myself that I wanted to quit, but really I just wanted to be healthier without having to give up, which meant that the moment I had a craving I would forgive myself for having a cheeky one and believe that I was still doing well.
Then my husband suggested that I speak to Mike Lawrence. He offered me a different approach to quitting that, if I am honest, seemed a little out there! I’m sceptical by nature, so hypnosis and holistic therapies feels a little like magic beans and voodoo to me. Nonetheless, I was prepared to give it a try and keep an open mind – what’s the worst that can happen?
Mike was very quick to put me at ease, he is incredibly good at creating a calming environment. I was very impressed. The whole process was quite different from anything I’ve ever done, but when it was all over the really impressive part was just beginning.
It’s hard to say how I felt after the session. On the surface nothing had changed, I was still me and I was still in control of everything – my legs worked, I wasn’t barking like a dog and I didn’t feel like robbing a bank.
It’s been 3 weeks now, and I haven’t had a cigarette. Furthermore, I haven’t wanted one. I just don’t enjoy it anymore, I feel like a non-smoker and it only took one session to achieve – how do you put that into words? Just amazing!
