Welcome to our MHFA Refresher course information page. At Mike Lawrence Health & Wellbeing Management Consultancy, we believe that mental health should be treated equally to physical health, and just like physical first aid, it is important to keep up-to-date with Mental Health First Aid training.
This course is available as either an online or face-to-face training session and can be booked through the “book a course” section on your website. The four-hour MHFA Refresher course gives participants a chance to renew their skills, update their knowledge of mental health support, and practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan. The course is designed for individuals who have previously completed an MHFA course or an Armed Forces Mental Health First Aider course.
The MHFA Refresher is priced at £150 per person and is limited to 25 participants to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. The learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions, and workshop activities, and participants have access to three years of MHFAider® Support and Benefits.
Course outcomes and objectives
The MHFA Refresher course aims to enhance participants’ understanding of common mental health issues, build confidence in supporting someone experiencing a mental health problem, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Refresh their knowledge and skills in providing initial help to someone experiencing a mental health problem
- Update their knowledge of mental health support and resources
- Practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan in case scenarios
- Discuss and share their experiences of providing mental health support with other participants

Certification
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the MHFA Refresher course. The course also provides continuing professional development (CPD) credits for some professional bodies
